About
Hello, I’m Avi.
I’m a 4.0 Art Practice major at UC Berkeley and an aspiring animator.
For several years I have created still and animated art for rappers’ album covers. I also curated exhibitions at Platform Artspace—an on-campus exhibition laboratory that focuses on socially engaged art projects.
I am drawn to animation because of its unparalleled creative freedom, ability to captivate audiences, simplify complex concepts, and harness emotional resonance. In addition to creating animated films for the purpose of entertainment, I want to use animation to provoke critical thought as a counterbalance to the pervasiveness of algorithmically generated content that is causing our younger communities to live in a digital haze. I am keen to make animated films that critique our social systems, question established norms, and ignite social change.
